Greetings to you all!
One way we aim to stay ‘fresh’ in our approaches is by constantly reviewing our practices to ensure relevance. A review we are currently undertaking is around how we communicate with you. For example, is this newsletter still the best way to pass on school information? To this end, can you please participate in the survey that Mr. Fennelly will be sending out shortly in order to start this process.
A big congratulations to four of our Year 6 students who took part recently in the Asia-Pacific Chinese-Bilingual Festival in Wuxi recently.

PARENT TEACHER CONSULTATION BOOKING ON GATEWAY |
Re: Gateway Parent Teacher Consultation Booking – Term 1 2015-16 Parent Consultations for Term 1 will be organised on Wednesday 28 October and Thursday 05 November 2015 (3pm-6.30pm). The Gateway Parent Consultation Booking system will be open for Parent bookings from 05 to 23 October 2015. If you wish to secure an appointment please log onto Gateway and book a time that is convenient for you by selecting the Parent Teacher Consultation option via the Communication tab. Regards. ‘ACTION’ FOCUS |
As part of our school ‘Action’ focus, Bradbury is working with Sunshine Action to help people in need and is looking to take sustainable action in our community. Through a care programme for street sleepers and the homeless, Bradbury will be regularly delivering around 80 -100 hot meals to people in need throughout the year. This term, the event will be happening on: Friday 30th October 2015 Monday 30th November 2015 For each trip, we can accommodate a maximum of 25 people (15 upper school students and 10 adults). The cost is $350 per person/students (donations on or above this are gratefully received) and this money will be put towards paying for the hot meals, snacks and drinks we deliver on the evening. Participants will meet at the Nam Cheong MTR Station Exit A at 5.45pm and the event usually last around 1.5 hours. If you wish to participate in this school action please ring Ms Fritzi in the school office and leave the full name/s of the participant/s, the date you prefer to participate on and a contact number. We have further dates booked with Sunshine Action in Term 2 and Term 3 so, if you are unable to participate this term we hope you will join us later in the year. PARENT HOME READING WORKSHOP – SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD WITH HOME READING |

This workshop is particularly targeted to parents of students in Years 1 and 2, but other parents interested in ideas to support home reading are also welcome to attend. Hope you can make it. Please note that Running club has moved from Bowen Road to onsite at school until the end of this term. Last week, the Eco Dudes were busy bagging up our mature organic compost which was made from our banana and orange peels. Students were also planting herb seeds for the night market in November and constructed with Mr. Melsoms help, bamboo shelving to house the seed trays on our school roof. Amanda Bremner – P.Y.P. Year 6 recently had Amie from Christian Action talk to them about perspectives and being Internationally Minded. The Year 5’s have been looking at electricity and energy as part of a ‘How the world works’ unit of Inquiry. During this trip, the students visited the Zero Carbon Building in Kowloon to look at energy conservation and how energy is generated onsite from renewable resources. Amanda Bremner – P.Y.P.
